Focus On Life: Observe the Curves
“In life, as in art, the
beautiful moves in
curves.”
~Edward G. Bulwer-Lytton
I have found that I am really enjoying the Focus on Life series as every Saturday we get a new prompt from Sally at Studio Sublime. I have found that these prompts have me paying attention to my surroundings in a whole new way.
I had no problem finding curves as they are all around me. The issue was trying to decide just what pic I should use. I took quite a few pictures of my cats as they sleep in balls, in the shape of their ears. I took pics of my husband as the muscles in his arms form curves, the stones in the retaining wall next door are curved. Well you get the picture. I finally decided to highlight one of my sun/moon mirrors that I have been collecting forever.
There really are very few straight lines in life
ReplyDeleteOh gosh... I painted one similar to this years ago. If I still had it or knew where it was I'd send it to you!
ReplyDeleteKitties in warm little balls... sweet curve
That is such a fun photo. The kiddo loves the moon and we always make a point to look for it in the evening. Because of that, moons always remind me of the kiddo and they always bring a smile to my face. :)
ReplyDeleteYour mirror is beautiful Shaiha. I have a stained glass moon mirror that I got at the Renaissance Festival over 30 years ago. If I had your email address I would sent you a pic of it.
ReplyDeleteI immediately imiagined your kitties sleeping in balls, too! Nesting....beautiful mirror...it smiles back at you when you look into it!
ReplyDeleteOh I remember those, nice. i too had to make myself stop with only a few shots.
ReplyDeleteThat's a nice mirror!
ReplyDeleteI am a sucker for moons, suns,etc.... Love yours!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun curve! I had a hard time deciding what to focus on too since I see curves everywhere!
ReplyDeleteGreat curve! Love the terra cotta and blue combo.
ReplyDeleteI love the quote by Edward G. Bulwer-Lytton. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteI was out for a night walk a few days ago and the moon was a perfect crescent shape. It would have been a beautiful picture but I'm not a great photographer at night! I was reminded of it when I saw your lovely picture.
ReplyDeleteLove this - I have one just a bit different than this in my room but didn't even think of the curves within it to photograph! Great choice!
ReplyDeletegreat pic! love this mirror .. I used to collect sun & moon, but no idea where they've all gone?
ReplyDeleteThanks for the comment on my blog! I agree these prompts are helping me really "see" what's around me!
ReplyDeleteI love the ideas of the other pictures you took as well! Kitties and muscles and stones... very opposing curves for sure! Thanks for sharing. Enjoy the day. Erin
ReplyDeleteGorgeous picture! I wish I had a way to see your entire collection: love mirrors with a theme :)
ReplyDeleteI love curves-I was a dancer.
