This blog hop has been a lot of fun. I received a bunch of beads from Pine Ridge Treasures and had to make a piece of jewelry with them. The picture above is just a reminder of the beads that I had started with. My muse was really stuck on just what to do with them. I just loved the colors but how to put them all together. I finally decided to take the beads and add in some other ones that I had sitting in an overlarge brandy snifter left over from other projects. I then crocheted them all together into nine strands. I then took those nice strands and braided them together. The result was a fairly substantial necklace that I really like. Take a look.
What do you think?
This is also going to be a two post day as this is also the day for Focus on Life so be sure to check that one out also.
This looks lovely!
ReplyDeleteA necklace a mermaid would love to wear!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea to crochet them together. That adds another dimension to the design that reminds me of a fishermans' net. Well done!

ReplyDeleteWow, Shai, I'm gonna want a tutorial on this one! It looks totally awesome, like the treasures of the sea offered up. What kind of thread/cording did you use?
ReplyDeleteVery pretty necklace. I was wondering what cording you used too. It will make a beautiful statement piece for sure.
ReplyDeleteI used C-lon. I just love using it to crochet with beads as it is so sturdy and doesn't have any stretch to it.
DeleteWow! Despite having all these beads included, it still looks soft and comfy to wear! It has a real feel of a beach to it also, like treasures caught up in net! Love it!
ReplyDeleteA fellow crocheter :) I've only used wire, but after seeing yours will have to give C-lon a try! Nicely done Christie
