Sea & Sand Blog Hop

This blog hop has been a lot of fun.  I received a bunch of beads from Pine Ridge Treasures and had to make a piece of jewelry with them.  The picture above is just a reminder of the beads that I had started with.  My muse was really stuck on just what to do with them.  I just loved the colors but how to put them all together.  I finally decided to take the beads and add in some other ones that I had sitting in an overlarge brandy snifter left over from other projects.  I then crocheted them all together into nine strands.  I then took those nice strands and braided them together.  The result was a fairly substantial necklace that I really like.  Take a look.

What do you think?

This is also going to be a two post day as this is also the day for Focus on Life so be sure to check that one out also.

  2. What a great idea to crochet them together. That adds another dimension to the design that reminds me of a fishermans' net. Well done!

  8. Wow, Shai, I'm gonna want a tutorial on this one! It looks totally awesome, like the treasures of the sea offered up. What kind of thread/cording did you use?

  9. Very pretty necklace. I was wondering what cording you used too. It will make a beautiful statement piece for sure.

    1. I used C-lon. I just love using it to crochet with beads as it is so sturdy and doesn't have any stretch to it.
