Year of Jewelry Project: Medals & Coins

I have really been on an earring kick as far as the weekly themes.  And since I don't tend to make a lot of earrings, I am going with the flow.  These I am rather proud of since they feature some charms that I aged myself.  I am in a hop on February 28th that features a medallion that I have to patina in some manner so I am practicing.  The beads themselves are howlite that has been dyed a turquoise color.

I wore them yesterday to jury duty and got a couple compliments on them.  I am always surprised when that happens with earrings because my hair is so thick and mostly covers up any that I wear.

Speaking of jury duty, I haven't been selected for a case which kinda bums me out.  I enjoyed it when I served last time and was looking for a similar experience.  I don't regret the time I have spent so far but I do wish that they had a more reliable internet connection and more comfortable chairs.

Now let's talk about something near and dear to my heart. Blog hops or more specifically, jewelry blog hops. One of my goals this year is to share more of my jewelry here on my blog and participating in the hops as well as The Year Of Jewelry Project really help to schedule me and make me accountable

The Patina Blog Hop will be on the 28th and then I have the Challenge of Music on March 1st.  And we can't forget the big one.  Signups for the Bead Soup Blog Party are this tomorrow!  This is the one hop I refuse to miss and I am so thankful that Lori Anderson decided hold it again this year.

  1. I love the look of your patinated charms. I bought some Vintaj patina last year, but haven't gotten around to trying it yet. January was a busy month for me :)

Going to put away doubts and get on board BSBP this year, Shai.

Have you considered getting in touch with a few friends and starting your own blog hop? Alicia (All the Pretty Things blog) called on six of us, and we started one January 26, which will continue every 26th for the next six months. Great fun!
