Art Bead Scene March Challenge

Armed Bird's Nest in Acacia Bush, Chile

I have been keeping up with my goal of participating in all of the Art Bead Scene's monthly challenges even though I seem to be squeaking in just under the deadline each time.  Oh well, not going to stress that as long as I am getting them done.

I just loved this painting even though it contains my dreaded yellow.  It reminds me that spring is actually coming.  In fact, it had already arrived by the time I finished my necklace.

I knew almost immediately what I was going to do for a focal as I had recently received one of HumbleBeads little birds.  I wanted to pair it with some of the wood style polymer sticks from Rosebuds Lampworks and an antiqued brass wire bead.

The fun part was deciding where to go from there.  I finally settled on knotting some waxed linen together since birds like to pick up strings to line their nests.  I also added some blue crystals, some Czech pressed glass and some lampwork from Art By Lisi

This is a lightweight, long necklace that is perfect to wear this spring.  I will be adding to my Alchemy Designs store as soon as I get a free minute.

  1. Love this necklace! The bluebird, the "alive" pendant and other blue beads... yes, perfect for spring!
