Book Review: once in a full moon

Beware of a kiss under the full moon. It will change your life forever.
Celeste Parker is used to hearing scary stories about werewolves—Legend's Run is famous for them. She's used to everything in the small town until Brandon Maddox moves to Legend's Run and Celeste finds herself immediately drawn to the handsome new student. But when, after an unnerving visit with a psychic, she encounters a pack of wolves and gorgeous, enigmatic Brandon, she must discover whether his transformation is more than legend or just a trick of the shadows in the moonlight.

Her best friends may never forgive her if she gives up her perfect boyfriend, Nash, for Brandon, who's from the wrong side of town. But she can't deny her attraction or the strong pull he has on her.

Brandon may be Celeste's hero, or he may be the most dangerous creature she could encounter in the woods of Legend's Run.

Psychic predictions, generations-old secrets, a town divided, and the possibility of falling in love with a hot and heroic werewolf are the perfect formula for what happens . . . once in a full moon.

Occasionally a book comes out that really reminds me of why I love the  young adult genre. ONCE IN A FULL MOON is just such a book.  It is full of all the trial and tribulations that fill a teenage girl's life.  There is  the need to be popular and fit in along with the requirement that your friends approve of your boyfriend.  Celeste has all of the game down to a tee, that is until she meets Brandon.  The question is whether she will have the courage to do what she knows is right and to follow her heart.

I really loved this book.  Celeste is a character that it is really able to emphasize with regardless of your age.  Brandon is the boyfriend that I could only dream that I had met in my younger years.  I easily lost myself in ONCE IN A FULL MOON and that is the sign of a good book in my eyes.

I recommend ONCE IN A FULL MOON to readers of all generations.  There are no sex scenes and no violence that would bother a younger reader and the characters will interest the older ones.

I rate ONCE IN A FULL MOON a 4.5.
