Happy May Day!!

May Day is a holiday that we don't really tend to celebrate much in the States at least once we reach adulthood.  I remember when I was still in grade school how we would all plant some seeds in little dixie cups to leave on the doorsteps of the elderly.  Once it had started flowering that is.

But as an adult, I really only celebrate it as a Pagan and as Beltaine.  It is a fertility festival where traditionally folks would handfast and leap over the bonfires.

However over in the British Isles it is a whole different story.  There May Day has been celebrated for over 2000 years.  There is dancing about the May Pole, crowing a May Queen and watching the Morris Dancers.  There is even an official bank holiday.

Whatever you do to celebrate this day, I hope that you have an enjoyable Tuesday.
