When a friend of mine, Rita of Jewel School Friends, approached me about a blog hop that she was putting together I was a little hesitant. Not because it didn't sound like a lot of fun but because I have a lot of hops that I am participating in. Anyways, I waffled until Rita sent around a list of participants and my name was there. I took that as a sign and I am sure glad that I did.
We were asked to focus on a dream that we have. It could be one that has been achieved or one that we are working towards. The next step was to design a piece of jewelry around that dream and a bead from Patricia Handshuh of The Color of Dreams Boutique.
My dream and my goal has been to purchase the house that we are currently living in. One of my plans when we do is to tear out the weedy rose bushes and whatnot from one section of the yard and do up a butterfly garden. So while I was doing the wire wrapping I was also wrapping my intentions into this necklace.
The beautiful focal is from The Color of Dreams Boutique and with the greens and purple it really does remind me of a garden in bloom. The imprinted copper focal and clasp, and the lampwork spacers are from CC Designs. I also used fluorite which sparks creativity in the beaded chain.
I had so much fun. Thank you so much Rita for not letting me wimp out on this hop. Now that you have had a chance to check out my design, be sure to see what everyone else has made. You are in for a real treat and real eye candy.

Great necklace! Enjoy your butterfly garden.
ReplyDeleteVery very lovely! Indeed a pretty butterfly garden for us to enjoy! jean
ReplyDeleteThat is a lovely necklace Shaia. Truly beautiful. I can appreciate your dream of owning a home but even more so of creating a butterfly garden. I am a gardener and I know what's it's like to look a spot in your yard and envision something beautiful. I hope your dreams come true soon!
ReplyDeleteI get to go start the paperwork on the house next week. So excited. The butterfly garden is going to come about a little at a time since my fibro won't let me do much at a time.
DeleteVery pretty love the colors and the butterfly
ReplyDeleteWhat a great color combo! I love the way you incorporated your final with the bead as a focal still.

Love! And I love how you incorporated dreams present and dreams future into the making of it. Christie
ReplyDeleteYour bold and beautiful colours would certainly attract the butterflies, Shai :) I love your design and hope you have your chance very soon to get started on that garden!
ReplyDeleteIt's a wearable dream catcher with the focus of your dream. So lovely!
ReplyDeleteWOW! Love this necklace. I want it. It's colorful, chunky and funky. Just my style.

Good luck with your butterfly garden Shaiha. I took your advice and made myself a cup of peppermint tea. Your necklace is lovely. I received the same bead as you and yet our designs are very different. That is just part of the magic of jewelry design isn't it?
ReplyDeleteLive your dream! Lovely necklace, would love to see a straight-on photo of it.
ReplyDeleteI wish that I could but I have imps that have kidnapped this necklace. As soon as it reappears, I do want to get some better pics especially as I wasn't satisfied with the ones that I did get.
DeleteLovely! I've always loved the combination of purple and green, and you make it so cheerful and happy. And I simply love the idea of a butterfly garden... Best of luck as you reach for your dream! :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful piece! I love how the coppery tones really make the bead pop. Thanks for posting for us!
ReplyDeleteOh that is a goefeous necklace. The colours are so deep and lustrous. I'm not surprised that little imps have 'borrowed' it!
ReplyDeletelove what you did with that bead...and a butterfly garden, I love that! hmmm maybe I should see about doing one in our new home...whenever we get moved. :D
ReplyDeleteSuch a pretty necklace! And I love the butterfly garden dream!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous necklace. Now to turn on the locating device you have tucked away in the butterfly, so you can locate your necklace.
ReplyDeleteI really should learn to put locating devices on my things because I am not joking about an imp. It loves to take my pretties and hide them. Usually in a week or so, I will find the item right out where I would have been stumbling over it. If I had kids or crows, I would blame it on them.
DeleteYour necklace looks great - lovely melding of colors.

Beautiful necklace! I hope it is returned to you soon. It's too precious to misplace especially with your dreams wrapped up in it! Good luck with your dreams of home ownership and a butterfly garden.....sounds heavenly!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun hop Shaiha, I and such a nice dream, I hope it comes true for you and you get that butterfly garden. Did you know that butterflies are the pulse of the earth, when butterflies become extinct and many species have over here, it is a sign that all is not well with our world.

Beautiful necklace, and I just know your dream of buying your house, yes your house...will come true.
ReplyDeleteShaiha, I hope both your dreams come true! Butterfly gardens are so peaceful and inspiring. I love your necklace!!! I'm really glad you were able to join this hop :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely necklace. I love your dream. I love having gardens to attract all the birds, butterflies and other critters. Hope your dream comes true. I think your necklace really pictures that.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Necklace. The owner of the house probably won't mind you cleaning out a little space now to start your garden, you go girl!
ReplyDeleteI love the way you designed this! It is soooo pretty and I love butterflies too!!! Have a Blessed Day!
ReplyDeleteIt's so wonderful to buy a home you're living in! I had the experience years ago, and it was like falling in love with home all over again. Congratulations!
ReplyDeleteI've had your stunning and magical necklace up on my browser all week -- I love it. I like looking at it every day, taking in the manifesting energies so gracefully moving in the jewelry, encouraging, inspiring, like music softly whispering "dreams come true merrily, merrily, merrily....All is well, all is well....." Purple and green are my favorite colors together, so gentle yet powerful, and the art you've created with this colorway is breath-taking and strong, purposeful and clear, as if you were meant to create this beautiful butterfly necklace all along. The beautiful bead and CC copper butterfly and lampwork is lovely in confluence with the fluorite and your intentions and dreams. Thank you for sharing your gifts with us! You are an amazing woman! I read your blog every post in my email, and always, I'm honored to share with you co-creatively! xxoo Rita
I hope you will be able to buy that house you're living in, and have your lovely butterfly garden! The first one is already there, what a great copper one! Wishing you all the best!
ReplyDeleteI love this piece ! All the lovely details in it ! And I hope you get to the house you dream of ! Sorry this comment took so long, this week has been a little heretic.
